The Faculty of Information Technology at Monash University is hosting its inaugural virtual careers fair – exclusively online and open to Monash IT students. Our virtual event will commence on Monday March 16th and running 24 hours a day until Sunday March 22 and is a complementary event for all Monash IT students.

A virtual career fair is an online event that takes place over specific days and times to allow you to interact with employers in a virtual environment - you can participate anywhere that you have Internet access. The event is accessible from desktop, mobile and tablet devices.

Each company has its own booth, and you can virtually visit each one to find job opportunities, view a range of digital content including live and pre recorded webinars and interact with 1:1 with employers of choice.
This event will run 24 hours a day from 9am Monday March 16th 2020 until 11:59pm Sunday March 22nd 2020. You can log in as many times as you like during this week.

No there is no requirement for downloads or Flash. The fair is 100% mobile-friendly and works on all modern browsers, all you need is access to the internet.
No a webcam is not required in order to participate.
Your login details will be emailed to you ahead of the event. You can use these details to access the online event over its duration.
Yes. Like any physical event, you can add all of the documents available to the online swag bag in your account and then email them to yourself by simply entering your email address.

While we endeavour to schedule live events at an optimal day and time for students we do understand that there might be some scheduling clashes.

Our fair will run 24 hours a day for the duration of the week so you can log in at any time to view the information. Additionally, the site will remain open for 3 months after the final day of the fair and you will be able to access information such as documents and pre-recorded webinars/videos and leave off-line messages for company contacts.
  • Be clear on what you want to achieve by participating. Do you just want to have a look around and source relevant information or do you want to actively engage with employers?
  • Research the companies that will be in attendance that you are interested in so you can have meaningful interactions.
  • Look into the employers chat availability and ensure you have your questions prepared in advance of this time.
  • If you are thinking of uploading your CV - make sure you it is a good representation of your knowledge skills and experience.
Information that you share during registration is accessible by participating organisations. If you choose to upload your resume, organisations will have the option to export this.
